Mr. Wonka awarding a prize to a student at our OSOB celebration.

We were happy to host our celebration night for our "One School One Book" reading. This year Milo Elementary read "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". It was a great read for the students and they were able to celebrate through various ways and to much enjoyment. For our celebration night we had a four event rotation that families would rotate through to have lots of fun and get a meal. We were even graced with the presence of Mr. Wonka himself, who served to great families at the door with Mrs. Smith and direct them to the different events. We had a total of around 200 students and families who came out to join us in celebrating readings. There were 30 door prizes that were announced through out the night and presented to students.

The night consisted of a dinner that served as one of the events. This was a meal of hot ham and cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, and blueberry cake to top it off. While dining parents could converse, check out the book fair and make any final purchases, and take their children up to the library to get a free book donated by our friends the Kiwanis.

The second event that families were rotating through was making "candy molds" with Ms. Deal. Here the were working diligently to have some fun arts and crafts. Our third event was some physical activity with Miss. M. Families were participating in a candy hat toss outside. The fourth event was a combination event in which students were participating a bubble gum blowing competition, could blow regular bubbles, and we had the Darling’s Ice Cream Truck on hand. The donations received by the ice cream truck were to support the after school program put on by our very own Miss M, the Bearcats program.
