What's Up Wednesday!?!?!?

Here at HMS and PVHS, the month of September has concluded and we are continuing through our first quarter of the year. What a busy and successful month we had! Here are some wonderful things that are happening in our schools:

-At HMS, Student Council elections will be taking place within the next week. Interested students were given a short application asking them to explain why they are a good candidate for Student Council. Once the candidates are finalized, speeches will be made, and the voting will take place.

-Mrs. Hallett’s 6th grade science classes are currently learning about atoms, molecules, elements, compounds, and mixtures. During a fun group lab, students were given the chemical formulas of elements and compounds and they were asked to create the atomic structure and display these chemical bonds using an atom model set that was provided. Students worked together with their lab partners and were extremely successful at creating these atomic structures Many students created additional ones on their own!

-During the month of September, HMS had a 96% attendance rate! What a wonderful start to the year!

-NWEA testing is currently underway for grades 6-11. On Tuesday, students were given the NWEA Math assessment, and on Wednesday, the NWEA Reading assessment was administered. All students have been working hard during these testing sessions.
